Food Safety Education

The program goal of the Office of Environmental Health is to prevent foodborne illness and injury. Many people do not think about food safety until a food-related illness affects them or a family member. Millions of cases of foodborne illness occur each year. CDC estimates that 76 million people get sick. The most severe cases tend to occur in very young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with compromised immune systems.

Most cases of foodborne illness can be prevented.  Education is a key element in stressing the importance of safe food handling techniques.  Our professional staff is here to help with education and to answer your questions.
